More info

Since our 1821 founding, Amherst has demonstrated the value of the liberal arts and the importance of critical thinking. Today, our mission is more imperative than ever, and we’re prepared to meet the challenge. Small classes, an open curriculum, and a singular focus on undergraduate education ensure that our faculty engage and challenge our students every day. It’s personal. An Amherst education is rigorous but supportive, offering individual guidance from professors who are leading scholars and dedicated mentors. And life on our campus is an adventure in itself. Tons of events, over a hundred student organizations, lots of places to hang out and meet friends, and all kinds of support help our students flourish and know that they belong. The result of an Amherst education?
